Synopsis

Erni Levier left her hometown to reach a dream: to be an actress. The years passed and the films she starred in as a vedette were far away. One day she receives an invitation to her niece Ana's fifteenth birthday. Returning to the place where she was born will involve reuniting with a family that has always disapproved of her way of life.


Director's bio

Anahí Berneri was born in Buenos Aires in 1975. Her directorial debut with A Year Without Love (2005) won the 'Teddy Award' at the Berlinalel and the Fipresci at the MDQ Film Fest. It was also voted 'Best foreign Film' at the New York Newfest and the Los Angeles Outfest. Encarnación (2007), was presented for the first time in the official competition of the San Sebastián Festival, being awarded the Fipresci prize. Alanis won three awards in the 65th ed. at San Sebastián International Film Festival: 'Silver Shell' for best director, best actress –Sofia Gala– and 'Cooperación Española Award'.
