EXPIACION

Synopsis

In EXPIACION, Perrone delves into the recent historical past. Addresses the issue of the military dictatorship, in the key of philosophical reflection. Four characters locked up in a house, from which they do not leave but we do not know why. The only way out seems be the disappearance. On the top floor of the house, a flooded territory, a kind of confessional where the characters try to find the truth. Where they hide from the reality that imprisons them.

Director's bio

He was born in Ituzaingó, where he has always lived and filmed, without ever having to move from there, not even to recreate a jungle or a post-industrial apocalyptic world. He has directed and produced more than 60 films, absolutely independently, with critical success and receiving the award as best director / best film on many occasions, in important national and international festivals. In 2015, the VIENNALE paid him a tribute called THE MAN OF ITUZAINGO – THE LAST INDEPENDENT, and the University of Oxford dedicated a focus on his work and career. He directs the Ituzaingo International Film Festival (FECI) and for 20 years the film workshop "Veni y hace tu película con Perrone". Raul Perrone has stood out for his transgressive, intimate, minimalist and experimental style. His method is so demanding that his main motivation is to remain radical and risky, making him a director admired by the new generations.
