Pichuco

Synopsis

A professor of the School of Popular Music of Avellaneda, with the help of his students, is scanning nearly five hundred original manuscripts arrangements that remain today of the orchestra of Anibal Troilo Pichuco. Through interviews with musicians from different generations and styles, this documentary is the opportunity to experience a musical journey through the work of one of the key figures in the history of tango and music in Argentina.


Director's bio

Turnes Martin was born in 1980 in Buenos Aires (Argentina), he studied Image and Sound Design at the UBA, in 2006 created Cinevivo.org. He directed By the River (2004), Balaclava (2006), Boteros (2010), Pichuco (2014) and One night alone (2019). He was Cinematography of Kartun the year of Salome (2012), Who killed Mariano Ferreyra? (2013), Covered the sun (2015 ), Yallah Yallah! (2016). He is currently shooting as DF recently Laotians, Own meat, Finito; and Director of several projects in development.
