The Exterior is me

Synopsis

Sergio is going to return to Buenos Aires after living six years in Spain. Before returning, he captures various moments in the daily life of seven of the Argentines he met during his stay in Barcelona. Hernán, a journalist who fell in love with a French woman and this makes his return more difficult. Susana, who at age 40 left Argentina escaping from her husband and looking for a better future. Eduardo, 65, and his nephew Juan, 30, who share the same destiny as a result of the repression in the 70s. Agustín, who was due to the economic crisis, and now distributes flyers to pay for his sax studies at the Conservatory . And Ana, who left her country to study a doctorate and was accompanied by her boyfriend Pablo. Now she wants to return to Buenos Aires and he doesn't. With them the director also shares impressions of what it is to be an immigrant, what the homeland in which one is born means and how they see their respective futures.


Director's bio

He produced and directed the short films Tierras (Ground) y Libre Competencia (Free Competition) and wrote the screenplay for Cara sucia, nominated for Best Short at the 2005 Goya Awards. He has co-produced, directed and scripted the documentary feature films Volver a Boedo (Back to Boedo) and El exterior (Abroad). Between 2006 and the present, he has produced and written the scripts for several television programs and institutional videos. He has collaborated in the writing of scripts for documentary and fiction feature films. He also teaches. He is currently co-producing, with the US and Norway, Llamarada (Black Out!), by Alejandra Almirón; Pujadas, a family reconstruction, by Mariano Pujadas; and Necesito que me crean (I need you to believe me), by Liliana Cheren.
